What’s your professional background? What were you doing before you joined 20four7VA?
Niniola: I’ve been in Digital Marketing for quite a while, working across different industries like NGOs, marketing agencies, travel, and project management. Before moving to marketing, I did a lot of project management and CSR development, so you can say, I have a vast background.
What’s your favorite thing about 20four7VA?
Niniola: Definitely the people, I’ve been paired with the best team in both Digital and Business Development, everyone welcomed me warmly and it’s been the same all through. What are your top 3 remote work tips?
- Discipline is key: It’s easy to get distracted when working remotely, so staying disciplined makes a big difference, because the biggest person to make self stay accountable while working from home is yourself.
- Stay organized: I use online tools to keep everything on track. But I always prefer my old school notepad and pen to keep every information I need together and also plan my daily to-dos
- Communicate clearly: Over-communicating is better than leaving room for confusion when you’re working remotely. Remember your team mates can’t see you working so you need to keep them updated on what you are up to.
What are your top 3 tips for successful remote staffing/outsourcing?
- Trust your team: Micromanaging kills productivity. Trust the people you hire to do what they’re good at and support them when they need it.
- Build real relationships: Take time to connect beyond just tasks. A little effort in building rapport goes a long way toward better collaboration, and also makes your staff more comfortable to communicate with you.
- Recognize and reward good work: A simple thank you, shoutout, or bonus can motivate and build loyalty with your remote team.
How do you unwind after work?
Niniola: I keep my weekends for myself. One day is for binge-watching a series and sleeping in, and the other is for exploring — I love finding new places to visit.
What are your hobbies, passions, or interests?
Niniola: I’m passionate about travel and tourism. I’m always exploring — whether it’s a new restaurant, a cool hangout spot, or picking up a new hobby. I love discovering new places and never shy away from it.
What’s a motto or philosophy you live by?
Niniola: Work, learn, live. Be willing to put in the work, stay open to learning, and make time for things outside of work that help you truly live, not just exist.
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us, Nini! 😊
