This May, we turn the spotlight on Lara, a Customer Service virtual assistant who won the Loyalty Award at the 2020 20four7VA Virtual Thanksgiving Townhall. Lara is one of our longtime VAs; in fact, she has been with the company for 5 and half years and counting!

Keep on reading to learn more about Lara and why she loves her job and stays happy at 20four7VA.

What made you decide to become a VA? 

I’m a stay-at-home mom so, it’s an advantage for me. I can work from home and then I could also take care of my kids. 

What was life like before you started working for 20four7VA? 

It was only my husband working, so he was mainly our breadwinner. So, it was really hard since I was really dependent on him with providing everything. So, I really wanted to take off some of the burden. 

How was 20four7VA helped you grow? 

When I started working for 20four7VA, I had more financial freedom, I guess, in some ways since I’m also earning. And then I was able to also look after my kids and my family (since I’m) working from home. 

I learned a lot of stuff from 20four7VA that I didn’t learn from the call center; especially in terms of Amazon and sourcing products online as well. And then I was able to deal with different clients that had different needs. So, it gave me more of an opportunity to learn and train on other stuff that could be useful for me in the future as well. 

What makes 20four7VA different? 

I chose 20four7VA since here we do earn or get our pay on a weekly basis which is good, so, we always have a budget every week. And people here are very accommodating, very helpful like our POCs and even with HR.

When you send a message or you need help, automatically someone will get back to you. So, that’s one of the things that I like about 20four7VA. They really make you feel that they have your back so, if you need anything, you can just send a message on Skype, and then they’ll get back to you even if they’re busy. That’s one of the things that I didn’t get from UpWork or from the traditional workplace. Even though it’s online, I can still feel that the people here or the staff here are much more approachable. They do have a friendly and very helpful staff so, you don’t really need to worry about, if you have any concerns or questions about your tasks there’s always someone that’s going to be available for you. That’s why it’s called 20four7VA because we have agents working around the clock. So, it’s really easy to get assistance.

Secondly, you’ll get to be paid every week; so you don’t really need to worry about your budget. Since you don’t need to wait for every 15th or 30th of the month or on a monthly basis, since this is going to be on a weekly basis, so that’s one of the good things.

You’ll learn a lot of stuff working with 20four7VA since they have a variety of clients and training that they do provide. So, you’ll be really well equipped when you do interviews or apply for other clients within 20four7VA.
