Meet Daryl, a program specialist VA for a client in the home improvement industry. He is responsible for coordinating projects within the team and overseeing their implementation across platforms. How did you hear about 20four7VA?

Daryl: I discovered 20four7VA on Facebook, reached out to the team, and applied for the position.

What difficulties did you experience in your work life before you joined 20four7VA?

Daryl: Before joining 20four7VA, I spent the last six years in the corporate world working as a data analyst  with 2 companies. I struggled with transportation and the constant traffic in the city.

What is your favorite thing about working with 20four7VA?

Daryl: With my client’s guidance and 20four7VA’s support, I am consistently learning new skills. My client and I regularly share insights throughout our learning experience, allowing us to build better and more efficient practices together.

What are your long-term goals, and how do you see your current role contributing to those goals?

Daryl: I want to work on more projects with my current client. I also want to upskill in my current role so I can get a firmer grasp of how the business operates.

Can you share your top 3 remote work tips?

• Never forget to take a quick break  
• Plan ahead (self-study, prepare backup internet connection, research)
• Take initiative! We, remote workers, are well-known for our independence and minimal need for supervision. Hey, we aced the onboarding training. We can do this!

What skill would you want to learn, and why? I

Daryl: I would like to learn more about the real estate industry, as I completed my certification last year. 

Give us a hot take about being a VA

Daryl: Being a VA is both an opportunity and a challenge. It depends on how you navigate critical situations and how passionate you are about your craft.

It is equally important to have good sleep and habits, since we, as VAs, always advocate for a healthy work-life balance.

What do you do to unwind after work? 

Daryl: Living right beside the beach, I love going outside and taking a walk by the shore after work. Spending quality time with my family and friends is also incredibly important to me!

Whenever I have enough energy after work, I jog and do cardio 💪.
