What difficulties did you experience in your work life before you joined 20four7VA?

Lorelene: One of the difficulties I faced in the call center industry was dealing with a micromanaging environment. There was a lot of pressure to constantly meet metrics- call time, customer satisfaction scores, and after-call work within very tight timeframes. 

Despite these difficulties, I learned to adapt and stay focused on my core goals. I was able to manage my time effectively and found ways to be proactive in my work. These experiences helped me build resilience and strong problem-solving skills, which have translated well into my role at 20four7VA, where I continue to handle tasks efficiently in a remote, client-focused environment.

How did you come across 20four7VA?

Lorelene: I came across the 20four7VA website while researching virtual assistant companies that align with my skills and career goals.

What are the top benefits of working with 20four7VA?

Lorelene: One of my favorite things about working with 20four7VA is the strong sense of collaboration and the support from the team. Even if we’re in a remote work setup, there’s always a sense of connection. The 20four7VA community is genuinely helpful and communicative.

What are your hobbies/passions?

Lorelene: In my free time, I enjoy watching movies on Netflix 🎬 and listening to music 🎧

What are your top 3 remote work tips?

 Lorelene:

• Have backup equipment and a power station ready (for sudden power outages)
• Set up a dedicated workspace (to separate work from personal space)
• Communicate Proactively- Communication is key when working remotely. I always make an effort to stay in regular touch with my team, seek clarifications when needed, and keep everyone updated

What skill would you want to learn, and why?

Lorelene: One skill I’d like to learn in healthcare administration is medical coding and billing. 

I find the operational side of healthcare fascinating, especially how crucial it is to ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Gaining expertise in this area would allow me to better support healthcare professionals, help streamline administrative processes, and improve the overall patient experience.

Give us a hot take about being a VA

Lorelene: Being a VA is often underrated. 

People think it’s just admin work, but in reality, VAs handle a lot of responsibility. We keep things running smoothly, solve problems quickly, and help businesses stay organized, remote work or not. It’s a role that requires flexibility and a lot of skills, but it doesn’t always get the credit it deserves.

What do you do to unwind after work?

Lorelene: I love to plan weekend getaways!

Even a short trip can help me disconnect, recharge, and get some fresh air. It’s a great way to break the routine, explore new places, and come back to work feeling refreshed. 

My best WFH self-care tip is to make sure I take time away from the screen, even if it’s just for a short walk or doing something I enjoy. It helps me reset and increase my productivity level.
