VA Spotlight: Jovy
Meet Jovy, a customer service specialist virtual assistant (VA) for a client in the retail industry for almost 2 years now. Her solid background in sales, customer service, and leadership makes her a valuable addition to 20four7VA. When she’s not supporting her client or upskilling, Jovy spends her time baking or watching sci-fi and action movies.
Let’s hear more from Jovy!
How did you come across 20four7VA?
Jovy: . I was referred by my friend, who is also working with 20four7VA!
What are the top benefits of working with 20four7VA?
Jovy:
- Work-life balance
- Time management
- Flexible hours, which means I can travel more!
- On-time weekly payments
- Opportunities to work independently and at your own pace
What are your long-term goals, and how do you see your current role contributing to those goals?
Jovy:
My long-term goal is to continue growing professionally in a leadership capacity, ideally managing high-performing remote teams or even overseeing operations for a global support or virtual assistance division. I’m passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating systems that improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
My current role as a customer service specialist virtual assistant is helping me build a deeper understanding of client needs and remote team dynamics. It also enables me to enhance my communication skills, improve my time management, problem-solving, and multitasking—all of which are essential for leading and mentoring others in a remote or hybrid environment.
Every task I take on brings me closer to becoming a more strategic and effective leader and team player.
What are your top 3 remote work tips?
Jovy:
- Stick to a routine. Working from home can blur the lines between work and personal time, so having a consistent routine helps me stay disciplined. I start and end my day at the same time, just like I would in a traditional office setup.
- Stay connected with your clients. Remote work requires strong communication. I make it a point to check in regularly, clarify expectations, and keep my clients updated so they always know the status of the projects that I’m working on.
- Minimize distractions. It’s easy to get sidetracked at home, so I turn off non-work notifications, use noise-canceling headphones, and schedule breaks to stay focused and energized throughout the day.
What skill would you want to learn, and why?
Jovy: One skill I’d like to learn is project management, particularly using tools like Asana or Monday.com.
As a VA, I handle multiple tasks and coordinate with clients or teams. Having a deeper understanding of project management frameworks would help me organize my workflow more efficiently, beat deadlines, and add strategic value to the businesses I support.
In the long term, I see this skill opening up leadership or operational management roles for me.
Give us a hot take about being a VA.
Jovy: Being a VA isn’t just “admin work”—it’s remote business management in disguise.
Many people underestimate what VAs do, thinking it’s just about taking calls or managing calendars.
In reality, skilled VAs are running the operational backbone of businesses: handling client communication, streamlining processes, managing systems, and even contributing to growth strategies. Great virtual assistants don’t just support the business; they’re driving it forward!
We should give VAs more love and appreciation!
