What do you do at 20four7VA?
Kat: I’m a Content Writer for the Digital Marketing Team of 20four7VA. I draft informative and creative client-facing content for the main 20four7VA website. I work with the Digital Marketing Team on a variety of projects.
As a Content Writer for 20four7VA, I play a significant role in developing strategic and informative digital marketing campaigns.
What part of your current role is the most exciting?
Kat: The idea of helping remote professionals from different parts of the world find the best-fit, long-term career opportunities through our content excites me!
My tasks are anything but monotonous. In fact, I take ownership of a variety of content tasks—from blog posts and press releases to web content and video scripts.
How did you hear about 20four7VA, and why did you decide to join us?
Kat: I was referred to 20four7VA by my sister’s former colleague. The application process was relatively fast, and the staff I interacted with were very helpful.
What’s your professional background? What were you doing before you joined 20four7VA?
Kat: I mostly worked in a corporate setting, focusing on trade marketing. Before 20four7VA, I worked for a telecommunications company.
What’s your favorite thing about 20four7VA?
Kat: I’ve always liked writing, but I haven’t had the chance to explore this interest in my previous jobs.
I also enjoy the work dynamics within our team. My teammates played a significant role in my transition from the “traditional” office job to a remote work setup.
What are your top 3 remote work tips?
- You don’t need to have fancy tools. Instead, focus on creating a comfortable space where you can concentrate.
- Never stop reading and learning!
- No one will be constantly reminding you in a remote work setup. You need to hold yourself accountable for all your tasks. I prefer writing down my to-do list. But you can find what works for you (e.g., Notes app, ClickUp, etc.)
Give your “hot take” about being a remote professional?
Kat: Remote work is still work!
It involves a contract/agreement, deliverables, expectations, and so on. It’s not a fallback or an “easier” option. You get compensated for your time, effort, skills, experience, and output, just as you would in any other job.
Awesome! What do you do to unwind after work?
Kat: After work, I think the best thing to do is to (attempt to) read a book 📖 and sleep.
Taking a walk outside is one of my favorite self-care activities. It gives your brain a break and a much-needed recharge. And the best part is, it’s free! It’s even better when you bring a furry friend along for the walk.
What are your hobbies, passions, or interests?
Kat: During my spare time, I watch videos about pets and comedy. I also enjoy reading and baking 👩🏻🍳!
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us, Kat! 😊
